Summary:

· TheWarehouse Technicianis responsible for the proper storage of all hazardous materials (HM) both in warehouse areas and outside bulk material storage areas.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:(Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this position)

· Display Total Customer Service attitude at all times.

· Receipt of HM from military supply warehouse as well as excess serviceable material from various sources.

· Monitor Shelf life of HM and extend as required in accordance with current directives

· Issuing of HM as directed by customer request, in an expeditious manner.

· Ensure that all HM has been properly entered in EMIS/EESOH-MIS and labeled with various material control labels.

· Accurate locating, segregating of incompatibles, and inventory of Free Issue warehouse.

· Conduct hazardous material assessments to insure shops are compliant

· Receive empty HM containers or tracking labels from customers and after processing paperwork, properly disposing of containers and closing out tracking labels.

· Must track hazardous material transactions in EESOH-MIS.

· Ensure proper chemical segregation, shelf life monitoring, and material condition.

· Receipt of “A” stock material and reusable material from various sources

Minimum Qualifications:(To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.)

· Must have a high school diploma or a GED.

· Minimum of one (1) year experience in general warehousing operations involving material receipt, storage, issue, loading/unloading cargo vehicles up to 5 tons.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

· Display a professional customer service attitude at all times.

· Ensure compliance with all regulations

· Maintain a clean and neat warehouse at all times

· Act as the primary forklift operator if required

· Perform all assigned tasks in a safe manner

· Maintain compliance with all USAF, federal, state, and local hazardous material and hazardous waste regulations related to operations of the HAZMART along with logistics requirements.

· Requires a sound understanding of hazardous materials, their physical properties, compatibility.

· Ability to follow established procedures and carry out assignments independently.

· Although work is primarily in a warehouse environment that is adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated, incumbents may be subjected to rain, cold, bright sun etc.
